Gentrification in Fort Worth: Addressing the affordable housing crisis

Across Tarrant County, rents are rising. Neighborhoods are changing. Our cities are adding jobs faster than they are building housing. As higher-income residents move in, vulnerable residents are pushed out, resulting in an increase in homelessness and evictions. As our region continues to grow, how can leaders tackle affordable housing needs and limit the displacement of residents? T?he moderator for this challenging conversation is Dennis Chiessa, an architect and professor at the University of Texas at Arlington. Panelists include: M?ike Brennan, President of Near Southside Inc. J?oel Burns, former Fort Worth City Council member S?hawn Lassiter, executive director of BRAVE/R Together S?tacy Marshall, President and CEO of Southeast Fort Worth Inc.
